Stereotyping Mothers | Create your own Brand of Motherhood | Fashion Blog India

Motherhood is a beautiful  life- changing experience but it often comes with some guilt's attached. It feels really silly admitting it but often I find myself guilty about anything and everything- to begin with I'm just not 'good enough' as a mother!!

Being a mother, you become vulnerable  to the world around you and easily fall into the trap of comparing yourself with other so called 'perfect mums' in and around you ,who keep a spotless house  being impeccably groomed at the same time, goes out on weekends with husband and is raising perfect kids. And all of a sudden everyone seems to be 'more together' than you and have a 'balanced motherhood'  but believe me it is impossible to be doing all this and retain your sanity at the same time. Things do fall apart at some stage and some of us may be better at the act of juggling and balancing things up than others. But truthfully, we are all muddling along down this path of motherhood, we might just be at different stages.  And if someone still tells you that Supermom's do exist, 'they are lying big time' .

Comparison has always been the thief of joy and when we get lost in comparing ourselves to others we can lose sight of who we are and what makes as special and unique as a person and  more importantly as a mother.

It's really 'OK' to Put off the Saturday morning housework so you can cuddle in bed with your husband a little longer while your baby naps. Take a break from the routine cooking and cleaning work, order your favorite food and spend some time with your kids. Its ok to sleep a little late and perfectly ok to take a break from' being a mom'. Its time to keep aside all the stereotypes and create your own 'brand of Motherhood'.

What it all comes down to is how you feel about yourself. If you are happy with how you look and the life that you live—fantastic! Don’t change a thing. Just remember, you don’t have to follow a set stereotyped rules to be a good mother. Parenting cannot be taught or learned, it comes naturally to everyone out of their own experiences. You can always choose to get inspired by other mothers to become a better version of yourself but never fall down that rabbit hole of comparison. Everyone has their own journey, their own strengths and passions, that’s what makes them who they are and you who you are. So embrace yours and be the mother that you are meant to be and empower those around you to do the same.Goodness knows being a woman is tough enough as it is; why are we making it harder on ourselves by comparing and thinking we should be more like someone we were not created to be? Let’s complement each other and lift each other up in this beautiful journey called motherhood!

While I sit back and have my third cup of adrak wali chai, take a break 'mommy' and enjoy the outfit pictures.

Beach is Therapeutic | Denim Overalls | Fashion Blog India

Every person has that one place to go to whenever they’re feeling stressed, depressed, angry or just need a place to let go. This is my place to let go. It always will be. The ocean is just so magical…and I will always be enchanted by it, no matter how many times I go to the beach. Yeah there will be tans but remember tans will fade but those memories will remain forever.

There is something so incredibly therapeutic about beaches. Try it sometime-and just set your heart and mind free from all the burdens of your life. It’s beautiful to be where I am, right by the sea. I’m blessed, truly!!! Life seems so different here ..it doesn't move from hour to hour like it is back home but life here moves from mood to moments. When you are at beach, you tend to live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun. Already missing my mini getaway to this beautiful place. Till next time enjoy the outfit post ......

Birthday Month Begins | New in my Closet | Shop Abaday

I can't believe it's September Already. And how can I keep Calm , after all its my Birthday Month !!!  I've got so much planned, it's already been a great start with lots of Pre Bday Celebrations, Shopping and a lot of travel plans are surprisingly also on the cards this year
* Feeling Blessed & Loved*

Thinking about my birthday I've been pondering getting myself a little treat and buy things which are on my bucket list for a while. Luckily I'm still in the age bracket where I get a little bit of birthday money from Parents, although I'm sure that'll come to an end in the next couple of years when our children will take over all that attention too, so I may as well make the most of it now!

Last week was a much more chilled out week, what I was equally delighted about is the lovely gesture of the awesome staff at Titan, to surprise me a with a Birthday Cake ,'Isn't that just absolutely wonderful'? Well most of things that are needed for customer retention are not always thought at B- schools. Sometimes all it just requires is little sweet gestures.

Last Sunday was  equally exciting as 3 of us friends along with their spouses and kids went for a lunch Buffet at Marriott, and this time which was again a part of my Birthday Celebrations. Three of us are neighbors cum good friends and meet quite often but at times meeting out with the same faces at different place and enjoying cozy lunch just makes it all together so different and heart-warming. Later we all went  to watch Mary Kom, while most of the audience of the movie might be suspicious about how much of that is shown in the movie would relate to the actual life of this 5 times word champion boxer from Manipur,  but what appealed to me the most is two simple messages that can be drawn from movie. First being that Mothers are people first, and they do not need to give up on their dreams if they have the right partner. And if truly such' liberated man' do exists, the another message goes out : a father can be a perfectly competent parent.

Later on in this weekend I am super excited to  be celebrating my Birthday with my Mum, both of us co-incidentally share our birthday dates and am glad we are able to celebrate it together this time which is going to be the our first birthday together post my marriage.

I will be writing a whole post on  my Birthday celebrations and the weekend travel to this beach destination soon, it's a beautiful little place, closer to my place and my heart too. So keep your eyes glued to my Facebook for updates.

In the meanwhile , Enjoy the OOTD pictures of my new Vintage look Bag from Abaday on a  lovely afternoon stroll.
Have a lovely week everyone!!

Festive Colors | Anarkali Outfit for Ganesh Chaturthi | Fashion Blog India

Happy Ganesh Utsav to all my Indian Readers.  I'd just like to take a minute to thank those who have been keeping in touch through my Facebook and Instagram, inspite of my being MIA for a while now.Your continuous support  and love never ceases to amaze me.

Ganesh Chaturthi marks the begining of all fesivals in India and I love the positive vibes of the people during festivals ,Pious Ganesh Pandals impregnated with marigold garlands, tea lights and breathtakingly beautiful decorations. tea-lights. These vibrant colors, music and festivity makes the country alive every year.

And today was one of those perfectly beautiful days after a while ,where I could have easily stayed outside all day!  I was feeling particularly girly and in complete festive mood today so I went with a bright pink and yellow combination with oversized jhumkas to top it off. This Anarkali Dress  just flows and moves so beautifully, and the two bright colors adds to the vibrancy of  this simple outfit and to top it off  the pompom hem lace at the bottom just gives it that extra feminine flair.

How have you been all this while? Hope you are enjoying the Festive Spirit too !!
